Brittany watched Rachel’s eyes, taking in their reaction. She knew she wasn’t supposed to tell anyone about her..new lifestyle. It took her a few seconds to process her question, but she had to answer, and fast. Brittany laughed lightly and shrugged her shoulders. “Rachel, aren’t those imaginary?” She studied the girl’s face, waiting for her to say something.
The brunette rose a brow at her friend and sat back in the chair. Obviously she had hidden her knowledge of the supernatural world quite well (a fact she would later enjoy very much) but at that moment, it did not matter. She pressed her lips together and tilted her head to the side. “If they were, you would believe that they were real and not imaginary,” she countered, narrowing her eyes slightly and waiting for her reaction.

Brittany thought Rachel’s words over, her tone. She leaned closer to the table, mirroring Rachel’s position. “I’m okay, just kind of hungry, you know?” She shrugged. “It happens, I’m okay!” She leaned back in her chair , her mind drifting to the thought of blood, again. She shook her head and focused back on their conversation. “So, complicated like Spanish complicated or like what?”
Rachel’s eyes went wide, realizing that Brittany had in fact heard her very soft voice. The only way that she could have heard her, that Rachel knew of anyway, was for her to be a vampire. She blinked in utter shock and shook her head, speaking in the same soft voice. “Brittany, are you a vampire?”

A bee? When did she ever say anything about being a bee? Her face screwed together in slight confusion at the blondes own confusion before shaking it off. Sometimes it was just easier to smile and nod when it came to her quasi-friend. She wasn’t the brightest bulb in the chandelier and everyone collectively agreed that it was just a part of her charm. Rachel sighed and smiled at her. “I’m alright. I have actually only gotten slushied once so far. Which truthfully, is a great shock. I expected it to happen a lot more often at this point. I guess everyone still thinks I’m with Damon or something…” she trailed off, rubbing the back of her neck. “I wish they were right,” she said very quietly with her head tilted downward.
Brittany frowned at Rachel as she heard her talk about her past flame. She didn’t like to see any of her friends upset, it ‘caused her pain. The pain she felt right now felt different than any other pain, she was starting to get hungry again, she could feel the burning in her throat starting to rise. Brittany cleared her throat, pushing it to the back of her mind, at least the best she could. “What happened with that, anyway?”
“It’s… Complicated,” she said. How was she supposed to explain to Brittany something that she really wasn’t sure about herself? Saying something vague was the perfect cover as far as she was concerned. Rachel shifted around in her seat slightly as she watched her friend seem quite uncomfortable. There was just something about the way she cleared her throat and a look in her eye that made her start to wonder. She leaned in close and lowered her voice to a level that she knew only vampires could hear. “Are you okay, Brittany?”

Brittany looked at Rachel with a slight look of confusion at her words, she thought humble was a type of bee, like a cousin to the bumble bee. She tilted her head slightly and sat down in the chair, opposite of Rachel. “Why are you going to be a bee?” She had no problem asking questions when it came to things she couldn’t understand, like why a person would talk about being an insect at school. She shrugged and smiled back at the diva. “I’m great! I like that school started again, I missed everyone so much.” She focused her hearing on Rachel’s words, tuning out the sound of the glasses clinking, the people talking around them. She shook her head and look at the dark haired girl. “What about you?”

Brittany walked into the Grill, letting her eyes scope the place before making her way to a table. Today, she wasn’t wearing her cheerleading uniform. She had on a pair of jeans with a cute, simple top. She flaged down a waiter and asked for a glass of water, by the time she finished talking to him, she spotted Rachel Berry. Yeah, Rachel always had something to say about everything and when she sang, she opened her mouth really wide, Brittany always wondered why she did that, and sometimes, she wanted to see if she could throw a gummy bear at her mouth, just to see if she’d catch it. Britt got up and walked towards her fellow glee cluber, her eyes bright. “Hi, Rachel! What’re you doin’?”
A normal human being would have found what Rachel was doing absolutely ridiculous, as does the person who plays her but really, that’s pretty much besides the point. Her attention was stolen from her task when Brittany said hello to her. Something had felt just a little off about Brittany lately but she wasn’t going to say anything. She just chalked it up to Brittany being Brittany. So, instead, Rachel just flashed the blonde her famous 1000 watt smile and placed her hands on the table in front of her. “Oh, I was just practicing my thankful look. It will be useful for roles on Broadway and to at least feign being humble when I go to Juliard.” Most people thought Rachel was insane, but she preferred to see it as driven. “How are you today, Brittany?”

Ah, good to know. But I’m sure it will, and if not, I’ll make it interesting.
Ah. Right. … Hey, do you happen to enjoy singing? We just recently lost a pivotal member of our Glee club and I think it will take a while to get her back on the team. Did you ever think about joining a club like ours?

I’m Rachel. Rachel Berry. You must be new here. How are you enjoying Mystic Falls so far?
Lovely. Mm what tipped you off? I’m not sure yet. I suppose it has its potential, I’m just bored.
[laughs] This town can get a little boring sometimes. Give it some time. Mystic Falls is bound to get more interesting. It’s sort of the towns own individual destiny.

I pride myself in being the kindest, Rachel.
You’ve been hanging around Damon for too long. Congratulations.
Trust me Rachel, this has nothing to do with Damon I can assure you that.
So you and Quinn decided to do a complete 180 this year?

[gives a small, fake smile, knowing exactly what had changed with Quinn but was willing to let Olive think otherwise] I guess everything about last year finally hit her. [grins and nods] That’s me. Although… Since Quinn started this delayed rebellion, we are no longer group mates. As well as joining the “Skanks” she also quit Glee club and Cheerios. [rubs the back of her neck lightly and nodded] Right… Right, of course.
Yeah, maybe. [She nodded a bit absentmindedly. At the mention of the skanks, she raised a brow.] The…what? The Skanks? There’s actually a group called that? [She smiled and placed a light hand on her shoulder.] But it’s reassuring that at least you’re looking out for her around school. I mean I can only look out for her to a certain range.
[nods slowly, pressing her lips together into a fine line] Yup. They are definitely not the right crowd to be running with. [turns and gives her a small smile] She doesn’t like it but… I just feel like I should. We were getting closer last year and I just don’t want that to end you know? Plus, we need her back in Glee. Her voice is absolutely amazing and blends with everyone else’s so well.
